2.3 Author-Purchased Books

Books purchased by authors as part of publishing agreements are subject to the terms outlined in the specific Publishing Agreement and may have different return policies.

3. Return Timeframe

3.1 Standard Return Period

Products purchased directly from VT International Press Ltd. may be returned within 30 calendar days from the date of purchase. The return period is measured from the invoice date, not the delivery date.

3.2 Extended Return Period

If you received a defective or damaged book, you have 60 calendar days from the date of purchase to initiate a return or request a replacement.

3.3 Third-Party Purchases

If you purchased from a retail partner, online marketplace, or authorized distributor, the return period and conditions are governed by that retailer’s policy. We recommend checking with the seller for specific return timeframes.

3.4 Gift Purchases

Books purchased as gifts may be returned within 30 days from the date shown on the gift receipt. If no gift receipt is available, the return period is measured from the latest date the retailer can verify.

4. Product Condition Requirements

To be eligible for a full refund or exchange, returned books must meet the following condition requirements:

4.1 Minor Wear Exception

Normal, minor wear from handling and reading is acceptable. However, if a book appears to have been extensively read, the refund may be reduced or denied.

5. Return Process

5.1 Step-by-Step Return Instructions

1 Initiate Return Request

Contact our Customer Service team within 30 days of purchase with your order number and reason for return. Email: info@vtinterpress.uk or use the return portal on our website.

2 Receive Return Authorization

We will review your request and issue a Return Authorization (RA) number via email within 3-5 business days. This number must be included with your return shipment.

3 Prepare and Ship

Securely package the book in its original packaging if available. Include the RA number on the package exterior and attach a copy inside. Ship to the address provided in your Return Authorization email.

4 Shipping Costs

For defective or damaged books, VT International Press Ltd. covers return shipping. For other returns, customers pay for return shipping unless the return is due to our error.

5 Inspection & Decision

Upon receipt, we will inspect the book within 7-10 business days. We will notify you by email regarding approval or rejection of your return claim.

6 Refund Processing

If approved, refunds are processed within 5-7 business days. The refund will be issued to your original payment method.

5.2 Return Shipping Address

The return shipping address will be provided in your Return Authorization email. Different addresses may apply for UK and India returns.

5.3 Tracking Your Return

We recommend using tracked shipping services. Keep your tracking number and proof of shipment for your records.

6. Refund Processing

6.1 Refund Amount

Refunds are issued for the full purchase price of the book, excluding shipping and handling charges (unless the return is due to our error).

6.2 Refund Method

Refunds are credited to the original payment method used for purchase. This may take 5-7 business days after approval, and an additional 1-3 business days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your bank.

6.3 Partial Refunds

Partial refunds may be issued if:

  • The book shows signs of heavy use or extensive reading
  • The book has minor damage not related to manufacturing defects
  • Return shipping costs were deducted (for non-defective items)

6.4 Refund Status

6.5 Non-Refundable Amounts

The following amounts are generally not refundable:

  • Original shipping charges

7. Exchanges

7.1 Exchange Eligibility

You may exchange a book for a different title or edition within the same 30-day return period, provided the book meets the condition requirements outlined in Section 4.

  • If the new book is of equal or lesser value, exchange shipping is free
  • If the new book is of greater value, you will be charged the price difference plus any applicable taxes

7.3 Exchange Timeline

Exchanges typically take 10-14 business days from the date we receive your original book.

8. Defective or Damaged Books

8.1 Manufacturing Defects

If you receive a book with manufacturing defects (printing errors, binding failures, missing pages, etc.), we will provide a replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

8.2 Damage During Shipping

If a book arrives damaged due to shipping, please:

  • Document the damage with photographs
  • Contact us immediately with your order number and photos
  • We will replace the book or issue a full refund
  • Return shipping will be paid by VT International Press Ltd.

8.3 Damage Claims Timeframe

Damage claims must be reported within 7 days of receiving your order. After 7 days, we may not be able to pursue claims with our shipping carrier.

8.4 Replacement Option

In case of defects or shipping damage, customers may choose between a replacement book or a full refund.

9. Digital Products & E-Books

9.1 Non-Refundable

Digital products, including e-books, audiobooks, and digital downloads, are generally non-refundable once purchased and accessed. This is in accordance with consumer protection regulations.

9.2 Technical Issues

If you experience technical issues with a digital product (file corruption, inability to download, format compatibility), please contact Customer Support. We will attempt to resolve the issue or provide an alternative format at no additional cost.

9.3 Accidental Purchase

10. Publishing Services Refund Policy

10.1 Service Packages

Publishing services (editing, design, formatting, ISBN registration, etc.) are customized services and are generally non-refundable once initiated. Refunds are governed by the specific Service Agreement provided at the time of purchase.

10.2 Prepaid Services

If you prepay for publishing services but request cancellation before services begin, a 100% refund may be issued. If services have commenced, refunds will be calculated based on work completed.

10.3 Service Failure

If VT International Press Ltd. fails to deliver agreed-upon services or violates the Service Agreement, you may be entitled to a partial or full refund, depending on the circumstances. Contact us to discuss options.

10.4 Dispute Resolution

Disputes regarding publishing services will be handled in accordance with the Dispute Resolution procedures outlined in our Terms and Conditions.

Q: Can I return a book I’ve read?

A: Books that appear to have been extensively read may not qualify for a full refund. We assess each book’s condition individually. Minor reading wear is acceptable, but heavily used books may receive partial refunds or be denied if they don’t meet our condition standards.

Q: Do I have to pay for return shipping?

A: For defective or damaged books, VT International Press Ltd. covers return shipping. For other returns, you pay for return shipping. However, if the return is due to our error (wrong book sent, etc.), we cover return shipping costs.

Q: How long does a refund take?

A: Once we receive and inspect your return, it typically takes 5-7 business days to process the refund. The refund appears in your account 1-3 business days after processing, depending on your bank.

Q: Can I return a book purchased from a bookstore or online retailer?

A: Books purchased from retailers should be returned directly to that retailer. Their return policies apply. VT International Press Ltd.  can only handle returns for books purchased directly from our website.

Q: What if my book arrives damaged?

A: Report damage within 7 days of receipt with photographs. We will replace the book at no cost or issue a full refund. Return shipping is covered by VT International Press Ltd. for damaged items.

Q: Can I return books purchased with promotional discounts?

A: Generally, books purchased with promotional or discount codes can be returned, and the refund will be based on the discounted price paid. Check the promotional terms for specific conditions.

Q: Can I exchange a book for a different title?
